This is a Porcelain Match Holder and Match Strike that reads "CASSIS LE DEIT - DIJON - TRADITION FAMILIALE - 1922 - Sirotaz avec plaisir - Sirop de Cassis - SANTE". It measures approx 3 1/8" across at base x 3 1/8" tall and it is in good pre-owned condition with no chips or cracks. The black surface has the green color underneath..the person who owned them painted it black and use this (and another) as a pair of candleholders. I suspect the black color would come off and reveal the original green if desired but I like the black color so I never tried it.
