a
light damp stain,
minor wrinkles, or short edge tear due to long term storage.
Formed in the shape of a pennant flag, with vertical orientation; array of stars against a blue field above, red and white stripes below, a displayed eagle and the legend, WELCOME HOME, printed vertically over the stripes. Over the field of stars, a color graphic depicting Uncle Sam embracing GIs and nurses beneath the words, "Well Done My Boys," an army tank, planes and a ship in the background, surrounded by the legend, WE THANK THEE FOR THE VICTORY / GOD BLESS YOU ALL MY BOYS AND GIRLS.
This visually stunning poster was used in the massive celebrations that attended the return of American troops following the defeat of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. A bundle of unused examples were found stored in a basement in the Chicago area about 20 years ago, many of them badly damaged. We picked the best ones and have just a few remaining.
