Description
1951 MG TD roadster, selling due to loss of storage. This car is in very good driving condition, needing nothing in the way of mechanical repairs. It has a current Massachusetts inspection sticker. This MG was updated to a 1500 cc Xpeg engine many years ago and a crane high performance cam shaft was added, as well as Crane electronic ignition. The car was converted to Evans waterless coolant and the water pump and radiator were replaced at the same time. it has new vinyl vinyl seat covers, and the seats were rebuilt at the same time . A new Moss Motors Hartz canvas top and tonneau cover have been installed. There are side curtains, which should really be redone as they look to be original. The brakes were completely gone through about 4 years ago. this car has been driven to Vermont for shows as well as to Saratoga Springs NY from the Boston suburbs . It is a very reliable driver , that starts easily and runs with no issues. The frame and wood are very solid. Wire wheels replace the disc wheels and the car is fitted with an MG A rear end for better road speeds. The weak spot on the car is the paint. I had it rubbed out a couple of months ago so it looks good, but the paint is thin and one spot near the fuel tank (shown on a photo) is down to primer. The rear spare tire carrier could use a coat of paint. All gauges function except the temperature gauge, which has been replace with an aftermarket gauge that works well. This car runs cool with no overheating issues and does not seem to use an excessive amount of oil on a road trip. This MG is equipped with a new dry cell battery. It only needs a good home.milage as listed is approximate
