I bought this hardcover book in 1979 and it’s been in my possession ever since. It’s a wonderful piece of history, richly detailed and beautifully illustrated, the original guide for a dungeon master to run a game of Advanced D&D back in the day.
This book really has everything that made Dungeons and Dragons unique: how to create an original adventure, detailed description of the different types of magic items an explorer might find in a dungeon, how this world of role playing games works, even such minutia as the turning radius of a wyvern compared to a Pegasus. And it’s done with a fine sense of humor.
This book is in fine condition, but shows the wear and tear one would expect from something so old.
