Sleeping Beauty: Cast of Characters Sericel
with a hand Created Background specially created for THIS piece.
This cel was created and released by Disney in 1995. This small limited edition is comprised of 5000 pieces worldwide. Cel size is 33x11 inches in size. Disney issued this piece originally without a background, we have added this specially created background of the sleeping Beauty forest, from the 1959 movie. This background has been added to this piece FREE of charge. Briar Rose and all the characters are now placed where she should be in the lovely Forrest with singing
birds. A fantastic and unique presentation.

As any sericel collector will tell you. These older 90s piece had really terrible frames on them. So that's why went to the extra expensive to Re-frame this one in a Brand New Frame. New UV plexiglass to protect the cel and background from sunlight. Original Disney matting. Frame size 40 x 19 inches.

The Walt Disney Studios has created this multiple character image using the fine art screen-printing process of color reproduction known as serigraphy. Disney artists specially created a hand-inked, hand-painted animation cel master which was used in the production of these sericels. A total of 23 colors are used to recreate the color image, each of which has been exactingly screen-printed, one color at a time, onto the acetate cel.

What is a sericel?
A Sericel
is a serigraphy process that involves silk-screening each individual color to the cel, one at a time. Every distinct shade is a separate screen, and a separate pass in the procedure. As a result of this fine art operation, each color is flawlessly reproduced. Sericels are also created in limited quantities, typically 2500 to 5000 pieces and sometimes even 9500. Because of their larger edition size, sericels are the most affordable type of animation art, ideal for the beginning collector. The word Sericel is a contraction of Seri-graphed Cel.
