    Description

The American's Creed by William Tyler Page
Supplement to Chrysler Motors Magazine September 1940
    T
his is an authentic WWII era printing of The American's Creed. The printing was commissioned by Chrysler Motors in September 1940 as a special insert for their Chrysler Motors Magazine. This is not a reprint, this is the original insert from the United States home front printed in September 1940. The print is on a thicker stock paper, almost like a thin cardboard. The printing has a beautiful image of an American eagle seal embossed on the top as well as 4 American flags above an image of the United States. There is a banner which reads, The American's Creed. Below the image is William Tyler Page's original text of the American's Creed (originally adopted by an Act of Congress on April 6, 1918).
The printing measures approximately 10.75" x 8.25" and shows some signs of wear along the edges and border of the printing. There are many small scuffs and stains along the bottom edge as you can see in the photographs. There is also some heavy spotting and stains in the top left corner and the left edge of the printing below that. Luckily there was some preservation paper covering the center 90% of the printing so the majority of the text and graphics are undamaged. There are also 2 small paperclip indentations in the top left corner (they were apparently being used to hold the conservation paper onto the print). It would frame out quite well for anyone looking to display this amazing piece of American history!!! I have done my best to fully document the details of this piece, however feel free to request more photographs or information if needed.
