This is a limited edition sericel depicting the Pongo, Perdita and Family reuniting with several of his puppies Walt Disney’s 101 Dalmatians (1961).  This was the first 101 Dalmatian Sericel Disney ever released.  This Edition was produced in 1991.  Edition Size is 2500 pieces, worldwide. Cel size is 14 x 11 inches inside the matting. Brand New, Disney Style Frame size is 21 x 18 inches.  Cel was created by Samper Silkscreen of Los Angeles, who was hired by Walt Disney Art Classics to produce this series of sericels.  Alternative spellings Dalmatians, Dalmatian.

Piece has been hand signed by the original Disney animators from 1961 who worked ON this movie for Walt Disney...Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston.

A Sericel
is a serigraphy process that involves silk-screening each individual color to the cel, one at a time. Every distinct shade is a separate screen, and a separate pass in the procedure. As a result of this fine art operation, each color is flawlessly reproduced. Sericels are also created in limited quantities, typically 2500 to 5000 pieces and sometimes even 9500. Because of their larger edition size, sericels are the most affordable type of animation art, ideal for the beginning collector. The word Sericel is a contraction of Seri-graphed Cel.
