In 1992, Disney Character Artist Peter Emslie joined us as a Guest Speaker at one of the many events we put together at Disneyana Collectors Conventions held at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Anaheim and later at the Disneyland Hotel. It was a delight to watch as his pencil came to life to create perfect images of Walt Disney’s Characters. Here is a picture of 4 of the talented Disney artists who attended that 1992 Disneyana Collectors Convention as Special Guests. (Left to right) Nik Ranieri, Peter Emslie, Will Finn & Stacia Martin.
In Peter Emslie’s own words, “I was born in Canada in the middle of winter. After digging my way out of the snow, I picked up my pencil and started sketching mice and ducks just for fun. When I was 7 years old, I saw THE JUNGLE BOOK. I was hooked! - I knew then and there that I had to work for Disney.”
“In 1984, I moved to Toronto to work for The Walt Disney Company of Canada, creating character art for licensed merchandise.
6 years later I transferred to Walt Disney World Marketing Art in pursuit of new challenges and a warmer place to spend my winters!”
Peter Emslie in well known for his visual impressions of Walt Disney and other extraordinary Disney artists who worked at the Studios over the years.
