Description
Dungeons & Dragons War of the Spider Queen Part 2 City of Shadows Adventure Path. This campaign arc will take your players from level 11 to 17 and beyond! In 1981 TSR produced modules G1-3, D1-3 and Q1 as a series of connected adventures involving the drow goddess Lloth. These adventures were later combined into one publication GDQ 1-7 Queen of Spiders. Fast forward to 2004 and Wizards of the Coast creates a 3 part campaign arc, City of Shadows, that takes place as a result of those events in the 1981 modules. All events both past and present occur in The Marchland of Sterich, in the world of Greyhawk. When the demon queen Lloth sought to absorb the planet Oerth(Greyhawk) into her layer of the Abyss she was able to partially absorb the city of Istivin. Located in The Marchland, Istivin was saved by adventurers (maybe yours back in 1981!) but a powerful Abyssal entity known as the Malgoth, was able to enter the city. For 18 years it waited, slowly organizing and plotting. The drow below the city, residing in The Vault of the Drow, have been planning as well. They seek to renew their control over the Marchlands! So much interest in this area of Oerth has also peaked the interest of other powerful entities. Orcus has commanded his followers to open an Abyssal gate in the area! With so many powerful enemies this adventure path is sure to be one your players will never forget, if their characters survive! An epic quest worthy of heroes and an excellent read as well. All 8 magazines have no writing, no stains/liquid damage and no weird smells. They have very minimal shelf wear and are all in very good condition. The following advanced campaign arc is as recommended by the authors of Dungeon Magazine! Start the quest with Dungeon #117-119. Following this, after conquering Malgoth, your players will want to stop the Drow and will be drawn into "The Harrowing" of Dungeon #84. Once they've left Lloth's Demonweb they'll find no rest. The Demon Prince of Undead, Orcus, has his own plans for the area and your players will be drawn into "Headless" of Dungeon #89. After stopping Orcus's plans to open an Abyssal gate your players will hear word of a Temple dedicated to Demogorgon also set in the land of Greyhawk in issue #120! Dragon Magazine #298 and #300 contain supporting articles for the Vault of the Drow and some Drow personalities who are sure to become a thorn in your player's sides! Dragon #298 also contains a large fold-out Battlemat for your miniatures. This features an underground setting, perfect for an ambush by Drow, Derro or whatever other horror awaits your players in the Underdark. This is the type of quest that can seal your fate as one of the greatest Dungeon Masters in the world. With adequate preparations, some notes, and the correct pacing, you and your players will create memories to last a lifetime. From all of us here at treasuredhobbies, we wish your players critical hits and you the wisdom to know when to fudge a roll or two! Good luck, The City of Shadows awaits!
