General Douglas MacArthur Freundlich Military Doll WW2 Composition 1942 Original

This is a remarkably well preserved piece of history.
Freundlich dolls were made in New York from 1929 to 1945. The company eventually declared bankruptcy - it was tough for a German sounding company to survive at the time.
This composition doll - standing 18” - was made in 1942 and was among the last created by the company. Gen. MacArthur is jointed and moves well. His paint is in remarkable condition with only minimal chipping and wear.
He is missing his original paper tag that used to be pinned to his chest, declaring him “Man of the Hour.”
