General Omar Bradley was one of the main US Army Field Commanders in North Africa and Europe during WWII. Troops under his command invaded Europe during D-Day, fought across the continent and linked up with the Russians at the Elbe just before VE Day. After the War he headed the Veterans Administration and was later appointed as the first Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In 1950 he was promoted to General of the Army, the fifth and last man to achieve that rank. In 1953 he retired from active service. General Bradley passed away in 1981 at the age of 88. After his wife's (Esther Bradley) death in Rancho Mirage, CA in February 2004, the Bradley estate was willed to the US Army and the home sold. The new owner of the home found these items left behind as garbage . What we are offering is a very limited number of original document sets consisting of one each of the following: 1. Note/Thank You Card w/embossed General of the Army Flag and Bradley Signature Stamp. 2. 8.5"x7" Stationary & envelope w/embossed General of the Army Flag and Bradley Signature Stamp. 3. 8"x10" Stationary w/printed General of the Army, Omar Bradley letterhead and Signature Stamp. 4. Name cards for formal party seating w/embossed General of the Army Flag. 5. Invitation Card for Dinners and Cocktail Parties w/embossed General of the Army Flag. 6. Note/Thank You Card w/embossed Five Star General Logo and Signature Stamp. Condition is VG although there may be some minor age staining. Positioning of Signature Stamp will vary from item to item as these were hand done by someone on the Generals Staff (or quite probably him or his wife after his retirement).
