This cel is an example of original artwork from the Walt Disney Studios.
It was specially hand inked and painted by Disney artists from the animator's original drawing used in the production of Walt Disney's classic feature-length cartoon, FANTASIA.
In re-creating this moment of action in the film, the Studio took great care to use the same techniques employed in the 1940 production.
This is Cel Number  134  of a limited edition of 275, plus 25 artist's proofs. The characters and pose on each cel were care-fully selected to best represent the action in the sequence in which they appeared:  "Sorcerer's Apprentice with Broom" (Sequence 7, Scene 14)
Original artwork from the Walt Disney Studios has found a permanent place in many important museums and private collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the William Rock-hill Nelson Gallery in Kansas City, San Francisco's Museum of Art, and the Honolulu Academy of Arts.
