    The 1981 Concours paid special tribute to international car and yacht racer Briggs Cunningham and featured several of his competition cars built for the 24-hour LeMans races between 1950 - 1956, such as the 1950 special-bodied Cadillac-powered entrant, “Le Monstre” as well as limited production cars. The Pebble Beach Cup for the outstanding car from the Monterey Historic Races was presented to Don Orosco for his 1959 Porsche RS60.
