    COOK CERAMIC Restaurant Advertising TABLETOP MATCH HOLDER STRIKER.
    It measures 5-3/4" in diameter X 4" tall.
    Vintage English advertising ceramic match striker and holder. Vintage 1930's, 1940's restaurant match strike made for Keens English chop house. This most likely dates from the 1920's- 1940's. Keens Chophouse opened independently in 1885 under the ownership of Albert Keen, by then a noted figure in the Herald Square Theatre District and is now known as Keens Steakhouse in New York . This match striker was an integral part of the establishment as it housed a large number of warden pipes belonging to some very famous patrons of the restaurant.
