    Description

This trick opening brass match holder was made to commemorate the 64 years that Queen Victoria reigned, from 1837 to 1901. It also served to advertise the I.N.Masters Ltd,
    Rye
, Watchmakers which were “Patronized by Royalty”. It advertised also the free catalogue.
Made of brass, this match holder measures 2 inches by 1 1/3 inches.
    Inside is marked D.R.G.M.
Although D.R.G.M. normally is an abbreviation for
    Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster,
I find it odd that the manufacture of this vesta case commemorating the long reign of Queen Victoria would be made in Germany.
The striker is on one long end of the rectangular vesta.
To open it, press gently with both thumbs on the corners above the two dates (1837 and 1901) and the opposite end pops open.
I did not do a very good job of polishing it.
There are dark spots on the advertising side and there is one large and one small dent on the Queen Victoria side.
This match holder is in thus in good condition only.
    Postage should around .00.
I do not charge for packing and handling, so please wait for an invoice for exact postage charges.
    Thank you for your bid.
