    Description

The brass match holder is a bit odd in that on one side you have the Paris Opera House and on the other a Japanese styled nature scene of plants and a butterfly.  Made of white metal with a rose gold-colored brass finish, this match holder measures 1 ¾ inches by 1 1/3
    rd
inches and weighs 0.8 of an ounce.  On one side in a frame of scrolls and flowers is the Opéra Garnier, the well-known Paris opera house completed in 1875, still in use today built by the architect Garnier. On the other side of the match holder, you would swear that this is a Japanese vesta case with the design of a butterfly flying among sprouting wheat sheaves. There is an unidentifiable plant on the lid on the “Japanese” side only.   The tension bar function normally and the lid stays open and snaps shut.  The striker on the bottom has been well used.  The match holder is in very good condition.  Postage should be around .  I do not charge for packing and handling.  Thank you for your interest and bid.
