Vintage Original English Silver Plate Owl Match Holder Vesta Case & Glass Eyes

This original and not a reproduction silver plate owl head measures 2 1/8 by 1 ¾ inches and weighs 0.8 0f an ounce.
The design of the feathers on the more commonly seen brass owl head are different on the reproduction owl heads.
I believe that the glass eyes on this silver plate owl head were replaced if indeed the owl had glass eyes originally.
The tension bar is in place and the lid snaps shut as it should. There is no separate striker; it looks like the feathers were used as a striker which may be why some of the plating is not intact.
