The art for these serigraph cels was carefully selected by Disney artists from the original animation drawings used to produce the corresponding films. The artists used the master print of the film as their color guide. The serigraphy artisans at Chicago Serigraphic Workshop created fifteen separate screens, one for each color at a time. By using this meticulous serigraph process, the hand-crafted quality of an original cel was achieved.
These limited edition cels are comprised of 9,500 serigraph cels. As is the custom in fine art printmaking, the silkscreens used to create the editions were destroyed when the edition was completed. Just as an original print must bear the artist’s signature to ensure authenticity, each of these serigraph cels bears the distinctive seal of the Walt Disney Company.
NOTE: Original gold frame, some slight distress on frame. Small spot in lower matt area, Does not affect the sericel.
